On July 17, 2009 SPX Camps presented its very first Little Miss SPX Pageant. Seven finalists competed for the title. Each received her very own title and award. The competition was tough as each girl was beautiful, talented and sweet. The pageant received rave reviews and was featured in the August 2nd edition of the Greensboro News & Record as well as the July 31st issue of the Catholic News & Herald.
Contestants competed in the following categories: citizenship, casual wear, talent, dressy wear, on-stage interview. Vicki Boyer, Jessica Dunlap and Taylor Vaughn were the pageant judges, all of whom are pageant winners. In the end, Mary Kimball Osborn won the title of Little Miss SPX 2009.
Lori Warren served as the pageant camp director. Caitlyn Carmean and Kathryn Payne served as camp volunteers. Both Caitlyn and Kathryn performed dance routines during the pageant; judge Jessica Dunlap sang.
