ANIMAL DISCOVERY (rising K-5th grades – Ms. Laura Sexton) – Grab your gear and passport, because you are going to travel the planet discovering all kind of amazing, wild, and exotic animals! We’ll sail to South America and cruise across the oceans to Africa before flying to Australia. We’ll soar to China and trek to Antarctica before returning to our own backyard for our very own “Pet Day.” You’ll learn everything there is to know about animals native to each continent and will create a book highlighting your animal discoveries. On the final day, you’ll bring in your own favorite pets to share. There are lots of stories to be shared and arts and crafts to be made, so join this camp and share your love of animals. You’ll definitely enjoy the adventure! LIMITED SPACE AVAILABLE!!
DRAMA (rising K–9th grades – Mrs. Tamara Jackson) – Lights…Camera…Casting Call! All drama queens and kings needed for a week of acting on stage! In this camp, we’ll enhance our communication skills and boost our confidence in performing in front of an audience. We’ll create scenery and costumes, practice our lines, sing a few songs, and work on our end of the week production of “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz!” You won’t want to miss the opportunity to become the next great actor or actress! Travel down the yellow brick road for a week of musical and acting delight!
FIELD DAY (rising K-9th grades - Mrs. Lucinda Hernandez) – Is Field Day your favorite day of the school year? Join this camp to enjoy Field Day all week long! You’ll enjoy participating in various contests such as, water balloon toss, obstacle courses, egg on spoon relays, sack races, beanbag toss, wheelbarrow races, water sponge relays, clothes relays, marble games, disk throwing contests, and kangaroo relays –just to name a few! You will not only compete in relays by yourself, but you’ll learn how to participate with others as a team. Each day your small group (based on age) will rotate around stations so that you get to experience it all! Snow cones, popsicles, and other yummy snacks will be enjoyed each day. Bring a change of clothes and beach towel on Friday because we will be having a “Water Fun” day complete with inflatable water slides from Space Walk of the Piedmont Triad and several other surprises.
3-D ART CAMP (rising 3rd-9th grades – Ms. Mary Ann Parah) – Sign up today for the messiest art camp in town! We will create all sorts of wonderful and exciting three-dimensional artworks. Clay, plaster of Paris, and paper mâché are just a few of the mediums we will use in camp. Find out what paper marbling is and just how to do it! Grab your smock and prepare to get dirty, because we’ll be up to our elbows in messy art fun!
GAMES GALORE (rising 3rd-9th grades – Coach Sarah Graves) – Some old, some NEW!!! Outdoor, indoor, straddleball, speed stacks…you name it! Coach Graves is ready to introduce a variety of indoor/outdoor games in this week packed with fun. Campers will be exercising while learning to play with partners and in team settings. This camp will be fun for the active child or one who enjoys playing board games or cards. We’ll learn how to play jump the creek, pin dodgeball, four corner tag, four square, and many other fun games! On Friday, you’ll enjoy playing twister on a gigantic inflatable from Space Walk of the Piedmont Triad!! Come with tennis shoes ready to move and participate in all sorts of team games and activities! If you have energy and like to play, join Coach Graves for a week of games galore!
MEET ME AT THE SPA (rising 3rd-9th grades – Mrs. Chrissy Verchick) – It’s summertime! Time to relax, refresh, and join us at the SPX Spa! Do you love manicures, pedicures, primping, and pampering? At this camp, we will be doing all of the things girls love to do! We’ll have cucumber facials, try new hairstyles, create healthy snacks, and make fun crafts- all in the name of “girl time!” We’ll also take turns relaxing in our massage chair and enjoy pampering our feet during a visit from our very own Avon representative, Lori Warren. If this sounds like a fun way to spend a week, get out of the heat, and come chill with us at the SPX Spa!
