JUNE 27 - JULY 1

Be sure to visit our FAQs Page for more information about our summer camp program including pricing, hours, what to bring, and all policies and procedures!!!!

BRUSH STROKES (rising K-3rd grades – Ms. Mary Ann Parah) – Get ready for a week of making magnificent masterpieces!  We’ll study the various painting styles of famous artists, make cool creations, and even finger paint!  Come and learn the art of painting and firing ceramics in a kiln.  We’ll practice drawing exercises that will strengthen and develop our skills and even create a unique acrylic painting.  We’ll have lots of fun as we create our masterworks!  THIS CAMP HAS REACHED MAXIMUM CAPACITY AFTER ADDING A SECOND SECTION.  MRS. LYNN BRUNHUBER WILL ALSO BE WORKING WITH THE CAMPERS!!

ALL SPORTS (rising K-5th grades - Coach Jennifer Powell)
- Every child is a winner at Coach Powell’s All Sports Camp and every camper walks away with a medal to prove it!  Each of the five days will feature a different sport including basketball, soccer, volleyball, badminton, and a Friday “free for all.”  If that’s not enough, campers will also participate in other fun sports games such as disk throwing and spider ball.  Smaller teams (based on age and ability level) will participate in skills and drills in the morning and play-off games in the afternoon.  This camp will be packed full of fun!

FAIRY TALE LAND (rising K-5th grades – Mrs. Christine Bond) – Once upon this summer in a (not so) far away camp, there will be a frog, a talking car, a shark, a genie, an ogre, a princess, and a few superheroes.  Join this camp to find out what happens when all of these characters meet!  These creatures will enjoy playing games, making costumes, and reenacting scenes from their favorite stories.  A visit from the Fairy Godmother will complete our week’s end as we celebrate with a “Fairy Tale Ball.”  Don’t miss out on this week filled with imagination, creativity, and fun!

RESCUE 9-1-1 (rising K-5th grades – Mrs. Denise Jones) – Firefighters and Police Officers to the rescue!  Grab your helmets and gear as we become junior firefighters and police officers.  Running an obstacle course each day will be part of our fitness training.  We’ll kick off our week with visits from local police officers and firefighters when we’ll learn about bicycle and fire safety.  We’ll also get to climb in their vehicles and make some miniature versions of our own!  Police badges and fire hydrants will be a blast!  To add to the excitement, we’ll practice our investigative skills as we solve mysteries around SPX Camps.  Games such as water brigade will be buckets of fun.  So, gear up!  It’ll prove to be an “alarming” camp!

JUST ADD WATER (rising 2nd-9th grades - Mrs. Chrissy Verchick) – Welcome to the wettest week of the summer!  We’ll run through sprinklers, ride the slip-n-slide, toss water balloons, and more.  We’ll even enjoy playing on the inflatable water slides and pools from Space Walk of the Piedmont Triad on Fun Friday!  If you like to get wet, then this camp will prove to be a splash!  We will create some cool water-inspired crafts and play several fun water games.  Come beat the heat at “Just Add Water” Camp!

PICTURE IT! (rising 3rd-9th grades – Mrs. Christina Foley) – Calling all shutterbugs!  Do you love to take pictures and want to learn more?  Our photography camp will be filled with fun opportunities to take pictures all week, including nature, portrait, and action shots.  Campers will learn how to set up that “perfect pic,” using ‘old school’ pinhole cameras, disposable, and even digital cameras.  Photography campers will also get the chance to be “Official SPX Camp Photographers!”  Enjoy crafts “focused” around building and decorating personal photo frames, making your very own pinhole camera, and creating a hand-made photo album for those perfect pics!  Come and join us for shutterbug fun, and capture great memories at the same time!
