BASKETBALL BLITZ (rising K-3rd grades - Coach Sarah Graves) - Let Coach Graves teach you basketball skills and fundamentals that will help make you the next basketball superstar! You will learn basic basketball moves such as dribbling, passing, shooting and defense. You’ll play three on three, participate in shooting contests and play other exciting games using a basketball. Come and join the excitement!
BUSY BUILDERS (rising K-6th grades - Mrs. Cathy Brown) - Come ready to build, build and build some more! Let your imagination run wild and see what you can design and create. Build tall things, small things, funny things, crazy things… whatever your heart desires! We will be using blocks like Legos ™, Knex ™ and several other building materials. Come ready with some ideas of your own, and we will mix them with some of ours. CLOSED!!!
GROSS YUCKY SCIENCE (rising K-6th grades - Mrs. Lucinda Hernandez) - This camp allows you to learn the science behind all the stranger things in life. We’ll talk about the so-called sticky and smelly things that happen in our bodies as well as some of our animal friends. Gross! Come learn how germs are spread and why we need saliva, investigate stomach acids, learn about cows’ stomachs, eat kitty litter cake and even make “snot” slime. Join Mrs. Hernandez in the SPX Lab for a disgustingly good time.
35 IN 5 (rising K-6th grades - Mrs. Laura Collins) - You’ll never imagine how much fun you can have in one week until you sign up for this camp! Join Mrs. Collins for a week of fun and games including crafts, snacks, board games, scavenger hunts, teambuilding activities, kickball, outdoor games, relay races, water balloon contests, science experiments and much, much more. Each day will feature 7 new activities sure to delight and excite you.
FASHION RUNWAY (rising 2nd-9th grades - Ms. Elizabeth Bradshaw) - Calling all divas! WANTED: Girls who enjoy creating and designing their own fashions! We will spend our week painting t-shirts, putting together trendy outfits and preparing for the runway on Friday. We will browse through our favorite magazines and decide what’s hot and what’s not! Come spend a great week with us and invite your family and friends to our final production.
DRAWING (rising 3rd-9th grades - Mrs. Lynn Brunhuber) - Join Mrs. Brunhuber for a fun-filled adventure into the wonderful world of art! Unleash your imagination and creativity while learning the basics to successful drawing and painting. We will learn how to draw animals, cats, dogs, people, landscapes and a still life or two as well as a seascape and cityscape with perspective. Maybe we can throw in some cartooning for some comic relief! We will explore different techniques and media such as watercolors, pen and ink, oil pastels and markers.
