BOYS ONLY CLUBHOUSE (rising K-5th grades - Mrs. Lucinda Hernandez) - This clubhouse is for BOYS ONLY so get ready for a wild and rambunctious week as the boys of SPX Camps take over! This camp will be filled with activities that will all take place in our very own fort. We will do everything from playing in dirt to designing clubhouses. GLITZY GIRLS (rising K-5th grades - Mrs. Denise Jones) - Attention girls! Don’t miss out on a week of glitzy, glittery fun! Let's pamper ourselves as we make our very own bubble bath and lip gloss. We'll design and create jewelry, sunglasses and hair accessories. Activities such as nail art, playing dress-up and designing a purse will definitely be girlie fun. SUPER SAFARI (rising K-5th grades - Mrs. Cathy Brown) - Have you ever been on a safari? This week, we’ll travel deep into the jungle to see what we can find. We’ll discover snakes, monkeys, and several other jungle animals along with African artifacts and delicious safari snacks. Pack your bags and join us for a great adventure!
LITTLE MISS SPX (PAGEANT) CAMP (rising 2nd-9th grades - Mrs. Lori Warren) - "Here she comes! Little Miss SPX!" Do you have brains, beauty, talent and personality to boot? Then sign up today for our very own Little Miss SPX Camp! Most of the week we will prepare ourselves for the competition by working on our communication skills (for answering questions and preparing mini-speeches), our team work skills (by participating in our group showcases), our talents (for the talent competition) and of course our own personal styles as we walk across the stage. Congeniality is a must and our winner will need to show good citizenship throughout the week. We will judge in various categories and crown the new Little Miss SPX 2010! Mark your calendars! The pageant will be held on Friday, July 23rd at 1:30 pm in the SPX Alumni Auditorium. CLOSED!!!
SWEET TOOTH (rising 2nd-9th grades - Ms. Elizabeth Bradshaw) - Do you love sweet snacks and desserts? Cooking can be a lot of fun when you are creating delicious items to eat! We will create a variety of snacks that you can eat after breakfast, lunch or dinner. Learn how to measure ingredients, melt chocolate and make popular desserts. Your parents will be so impressed with your ability to help them come up with great snacks to share when friends come over to visit. We’ll also create a recipe book so you can take home some of your favorite creations. Join us for a week of great fun and a lot of food! CLOSED!!!
BASKETBALL FUNDAMENTALS (rising 4th-9th grades - Coach Sarah Graves) - In this camp you will learn basic basketball moves such as dribbling, passing, shooting and defense. Be ready for some morning exercises, challenging activities, relay races, daily games and contests such as free throw shooting, 1 on 1, 3 on 3 and more! Coach Graves looks forward to helping you become the next basketball superstar!
