Mrs. Lori Warren is in her seventeenth year as Camp Director at Saint Pius X School. She served as the guidance counselor for Saint Pius from 2000-2016. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her Master of Science degree in Community Counseling from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She is a North Carolina Licensed Professional Counselor and National Certified Counselor who serves as a substitute therapist in a private practice counseling facility in Greensboro. She currently manages her family's automotive business full-time while working hard to ensure that SPX Camps has another fantastic summer!
Ms. Andrea Matkins is in her sixteenth year working with SPX Summer Camps and is serving as Assistant Camp Director for the ninth year. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and her Master of Education degree from Greensboro College. She is a National Board Certified Teacher (NBCT) and is licensed to teach children in grades K-6 and gifted children in grades K-12. Ms. Matkins currently provides enrichment pull out services to 3rd-5th grade gifted students at Northern Elementary School and Rankin Elementary School. As Assistant Director, she helps Mrs. Warren with the daily management of the camp program. Ms. Matkins’ goal each summer has been to ensure every child participating in camp has an exciting, safe, and fun summer while also obtaining enrichment during the camp week. She uses that goal to help Mrs. Warren maintain the best summer camp program in Greensboro!
Ms. Natalie Angeron is a St. Pius X parent and parishioner. She received her degree as a Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) from Wichita State University and still holds a license to practice in Kansas and Ontario, Canada. Since receiving her degree, she has lived in Kansas, Toronto, and Georgia. She moved with her family to Greensboro in 2008 and has been a St. Pius X parishioner and parent since. She volunteers with both the school and church and has held the position of Camp Administrative Assistant since Fall of 2015.
Ms. Elizabeth Boles was a Fine Arts major at Western Carolina University and has been teaching art for the past 20 years. She currently teaches art and painting classes at Saint Pius X School, Rockingham Community College, Well Spring Retirement Community, and Brookdale Retirement Community. She serves as President for the Fine Arts Festival Association and is a representative for Grumbacher Art Supply Company and she currently has a piece displayed in the Madame Hancock exhibit at the MARC. She has painted over 50 murals and has been featured in books, magazines, and newspapers as well as a guest on local radio and TV shows. She was awarded the 2009 Grant for Artist Residency at Vermont Studio Center for the Arts and has won various awards in art shows and juried shows across the region. She has also had several of her art works copyrighted. Ms. Boles takes pride in teaching young artists proper technique and enjoys seeing their love for art soar! Several of her art students travel far and wide to take her classes, as she has a genuine knack for teaching. She has taught art to students from ages 3 to 96 and enjoys every minute! In her free time, she loves to travel, paint, sketch, and create murals in her home. She is very excited about bringing her love of painting to Saint Pius and looks forward to meeting some of SPX’s budding artists! Ms. Danielle Boltin is a 2011 graduate of USC-Aiken with a Bachelor's Degree in Education. Ms. Boltin teaches 4th grade at Rankin Elementary School. When she isn't teaching, Ms. Boltin enjoys yoga, CrossFit, hiking with her friends and dog, and testing out new recipes. This will be her third year at SPX Camps, and she is looking forward to seeing everyone from last year and meeting lots of new campers this year!
Mrs. Cameron Chantrey is in her fourteenth year of teaching art in Guilford County Schools. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Interior Design from Appalachian State University and K-12 licensure in Art Education from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She has taught art to children preschool aged all the way up to high school seniors, publicly and privately. Mrs. Chantrey currently is the K-5th grade art teacher at Northern Elementary where she has taught almost 10 wonderful years. In her spare time, she enjoys drawing, painting, exercising, traveling, and playing with her kids. Sharing her passion of creating art with children is a major part of her pride and joy in life. The other part belongs to her loving and supportive family, husband Troy, and children, Reece and Claire. Mrs. Chantrey is really looking forward to her first year as a staff member at SPX summer camps!
Mrs. Patty Delaney is currently employed as the Kindergarten Teacher Assistant in Mrs. Collins' class and has worked at Saint Pius X for the past 19 years. She graduated from Thomas College in Waterville, Maine and worked as a medical terminologist. In addition, Mrs. Delaney spent 11 years as a Girl Scout Leader. She is so excited to work with all of the campers this summer!
Mrs. Barbara Egloff has been employed as a teacher for 39 years and has taught third and fifth grades at Saint Pius X for the past 14 years. She received her Bachelor's degree in Education from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro and her Master's degree from North Carolina A&T State University. She is a former Teacher of the Year for the Davidson County School System. Mrs. Egloff enjoys working with children and learning with her students. Her students have enjoyed making holiday plastic canvas items for many years, and she can't wait to share this unique crafting hobby with you!
Ms. Liz Foster is the middle school Language Arts teacher at St. Pius X. This is her fourth year at St. Pius, having assisted in various classrooms for two years, and taught for two years. Additionally, Ms. Foster attended St. Pius for K-8th grade, where she played volleyball and basketball. She has coached these sports since the commencement of her employment. Ms. Foster received her Bachelor of Arts degree in English from UNCG, and received her Master of Education degree from Liberty University. She is a certified first responder (CPR/First Aid Certified) for the school. In her spare time, she enjoys being outdoors, reading, playing sports, hiking, traveling, and the arts. Ms. Foster is excited to be a part of the 2017 St. Pius X Summer Camps.
Coach Sarah Graves has been teaching summer camps for over ten years and is excited to bring lots of fun and energy to St. Pius Summer Camps again this year! She recently moved to Durham, NC and teaches elementary physical education in Raleigh. Coach Graves will be teaching and leading team sports, skill development, and a variety of games and activities during her camps throughout the summer. She is a previous Varsity Women’s High School basketball coach and coordinates tennis and running programs for her students. She loves the beach, exercise, spending time with her family in Greensboro, and her dog Cooper. Coach Graves can’t wait to spend weeks at camp motivating students to be active and practice new skills and games!
Mrs. Amanda Hacker Mercer graduated from The University of North Carolina Greensboro with a Bachelor of Science degree with a concentration in Apparel Product Design with a minor in dance. Amanda is an experienced clothing designer, sewer, and seamstress in the Greensboro, North Carolina area. ‘Simply Amanda’s’ is a startup business created by Amanda in her early years in college. She began selling handmade apparel at holiday markets around Greensboro, North Carolina. She is currently working on designs for her bridal collection to re-direct her business towards the bridal industry. Amanda was a dancer and a dance instructor for six years at The Dance Center of Greensboro. She has also coached cheerleading and volleyball, and is currently working her fifth year at St. Pius X after school care.
Mrs. Lucinda Hernandez is the Physical Education Teacher Assistant for Saint Pius X School. She has been an employee of Saint Pius X for the past 13 years, where she has served as a teacher assistant in 2nd grade, 5th grade, Middle School, Spanish, and Physical Education. Coach Hernandez also takes care of young children in the SPX Church Nursery during weekend Mass services. She obtained her Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Development from GTCC. She has been a teacher and assistant for SPX Summer Camps for the past 12 years and is excited about teaching camps again this summer!
Coach Brian Judski received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from Clemson University. He has 18 years of experience coaching basketball at the collegiate level as well as running camps and clinics in the US and Europe. He is the founder and director of Future Basketball Stars, a basketball academy that has trained over 800 athletes in the Greater Greensboro area since 2012. He most recently served as the a coach at UNC-Charlotte. Formally he served as recruiting and individual development coordinator at UNC-Greensboro from 2007 to 2011. Previously, Coach Judski made stops at Georgia State University, Miami Dade College, Guilford College, and Furman University. He takes tremendous pride in teaching the game of basketball and developing players. Coach Judski is looking forward to sharing his knowledge and skills with campers here at Saint Pius! He is so excited about teaching campers the skills, discipline, and hard work that they will need to play at the college level one day! Mrs. Jennifer Pavone is in her 11th year as a teacher assistant here at Saint Pius X School. She has worked with 5th grade and Middle School students and is in her 2nd year as a third grade assistant. She loves getting to know her students and enjoys helping them to be the best they can be! She is a native of England and also lived in Italy for 15 years, where she gained citizenship and is fluent in Italian. Mrs. Pavone is looking forward to seeing both seasoned and new campers this year. Ciao!
Ms. Laura Sexton has been an employee of Saint Pius X School for the past thirteen years. She currently serves as the full-time Teacher Assistant in Mrs. Malphurs’ second grade class, where she is active in assisting with the St. Jude Math-a-thon school-wide fundraiser each year. Ms. Sexton obtained her Associate's Degree in Business from Broward Community College in Florida. She enjoys the outdoors, arts and crafts, gardening, photography, and musical theater. This will be Ms. Sexton’s twelfth year teaching at SPX Summer Camps. She is very creative, fun, and energetic, and enjoys working with children of all ages. Join Ms. Sexton for a supersonic summer!
Coach Kristin Shelton received her Bachelor's degree from Guilford College, where she played point guard for the Women's Basketball Team. She is the Physical Education Teacher, Athletic Director, Varsity Girls' Basketball, and Track Coach at Saint Pius X School. Coach Shelton’s Varsity Girls Basketball team remained undefeated for three seasons, and she was featured in several news articles in celebration of her accomplishments. Her basketball teams have won both the PECSAA and Shamrock Tournament Championships for the past four years. Coach Shelton is the President of the Greensboro Lady Gaters AAU Basketball Organization and currently coaches the U15 Travel Team. Basketball is a huge passion of Coach Shelton's, as she comes from a family of basketball coaches. She grew up in the gym watching her father lead his team to several state championships. Coach Shelton was inducted into the Lyons High School Hall of Fame in October 2005. She is a HUGE Syracuse Orange fan and was honored to be inducted into the same Hall of Fame as Syracuse's current Men's Basketball Coach, Jim Boeheim. She is looking forward to the opportunity of helping your child pursue his or her dream of becoming the next great basketball star!
Coach Norm Wilhelm has been involved in baseball for over 45 years as a player, coach, and umpire. He graduated from Major League Umpire School in 1990. He has umpired Division I College Baseball for 8 years and has been umpiring for 33 years. Coach Wilhelm also worked in the Player Relations Department for the Florida (now Miami) Marlins for 4 years before moving to North Carolina. He currently coaches baseball at Kernodle Middle School and has been a 4th/5th grade teacher for Guilford County Schools for 20 years. Coach Wilhelm is excited to join the summer camp staff!
